1 Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Kanlex Studio. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Creator", "Filmmaker", "User", or "You") and Kanlex Pictures Limited ("Kanlex Pictures", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, signing in with Google OAuth or custom email, uploading films, or otherwise accessing Kanlex Studio (studio.kanlexpictures.com), you signify your full agreement to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations.

2 Creator Studio Purpose & Service Description

Kanlex Studio is an independent film distribution, analytics, and royalty monetization platform designed to empower East African filmmakers to distribute their works directly to audiences on Kanlex Play. Through the platform, creators can:

• Upload feature films, short films, documentaries, and series.
• Benefit from secure digital streaming protection to safeguard content against unauthorized distribution.
• Track transparent viewership analytics and audience performance.
• Receive direct mobile money royalty disbursements.

3 Content Guidelines, Creator Accountability & Prohibited Material

To preserve a trusted and safe ecosystem for audiences, Kanlex strictly prohibits the following content:

• Pornography & Explicit Sexual Content: Any visual depiction of explicit sexual acts, genitalia, pornography, or exploitation is strictly forbidden.
• Non-Consensual Imagery & Exploitation: Immediate permanent ban and reporting to relevant legal authorities.
• Hate Speech & Harassment: Content inciting violence against protected groups or public disorder.
• Piracy & Unauthorized Media: Uploading films, trailers, or soundtracks without written authorization from the copyright holder.

4 Content Safety Standards & The Three-Strikes Policy

To protect viewers and creators alike, Kanlex Studio employs automated safety screening upon ingestion to inspect content strictly for prohibited material:

• Flagging & Quarantine: If uploaded media violates community safety guidelines, it is automatically blocked from public streaming and queued for review.
• Three-Strikes Policy: If a creator account accumulates three (3) verified violations for uploading prohibited material, the account will be placed under temporary suspension, pending administrative inquiry or permanent termination.
• Appeals: Creators may submit an appeal for false positive moderation flags by emailing kanlexpictures@gmail.com within 14 days of notification.

5 Licensing & Intellectual Property Rights

You Retain Ownership: You retain all ownership rights in your films. By uploading your content to Kanlex Studio, you grant Kanlex Pictures Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-bearing license to:

• Host, store, and stream your film to registered subscribers on Kanlex Play.
• Display promotional excerpts, trailers, posters, and metadata in marketing materials.
• Apply digital rights protection to prevent unauthorized downloading or piracy.

6 Monetization & Payout Terms

• Revenue Allocation: Creator earnings are calculated based on verified subscriber watch time and pay-per-view transactions according to your creator tier.
• Payout Execution: Royalties are disbursed directly to your registered mobile money number upon meeting minimum threshold amounts.
• Taxes: Creators are responsible for any statutory income taxes due under their local tax regulations.

7 Account Termination & Content Removal

You may remove your films or delete your account at any time through Kanlex Studio. Kanlex Pictures reserves the right to pause, unpublish, or permanently delete any content or terminate any user account that violates these Terms or applicable law.

8 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of the jurisdiction of operation. Any dispute shall be settled by amicable negotiation or through competent courts.
